Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Working with fellow procurement professionals and partner functions, manage and implement purchasing related activities that support both pre-production and series requirements of capital equipment and tooling. Drive development of assigned commodity strategies with functional counterparts that drive continuous improvement, spend leverage, and implementation of best practices, all supporting future business objectives. Support Manager and fellow team members as needed, with the pursuit of best total cost of ownership.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Engage project teams for both spot-buy and operational demands, aligning with the provided technical specifications
  • Search, investigate, and engage potential suppliers for continued sourcing opportunities.
  • Maintain approved supplier listings and qualified suppliers for continued supply and possible partnering.
  • Conduct RFQ/P, response analysis, sourcing selections and procurement management for new equipment and tooling, refurbishments, and repairs
  • Work with functional counterparts on purchase requisition setup, purchase order creation and issuance, supplier monitoring and fulfillment, and project closure.
  • Work with divisional project teams to align with project/program requirements on new development programs.
  • Communicate supplier risks to project teams, facilitate escalation meetings, and follow-up on recovery measures.
  • Track and record savings and cost avoidance contribution into the respective CIP database.
  • Investigate and pursue operational savings projects with technical SME’s for both improved operational performance and expansion of leverage position.
  • Promote an environment of highest integrity and esprit de corps.
  • Travel of up to 30% of your time to suppliers and manufacturing plants locally and internationally can be expected.



Your Skills & Strengths

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or similar technical related function - Required
  • 3 or more years of experience in Technical Procurement or involvement of Procurement of Capital Equipment and Tooling – Required
  • Experience in Negotiation, Financial Cost Analysis and Market Analysis – Preferred
  • Understanding of Process Planning, CapEx Planning, Materials and Processes Applications, and Quality Procedures – Preferred
  • Ability to read Blue Prints and Specifications – Nice to Have
  • General knowledge of Manufacturing Processes (Assembly, Stamping, Injection Molding, Casting) – Nice to Have
  • Demonstrated Time Management, Project Management, problem solving and Continuous Improvement skills – Preferred
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize deadlines and target objectives – Required
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills – ability to convey messaged internally and externally to suppliers - Required
  • Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills – Required
  • Ability to travel up to 30% both Domestic and International – Required
